Sorry for late.. >3<
【5 QUESTIONs】
★ABOUT THE FINAL EXAM★
Q1. What did you think about the role-plays?
A1. That's killing me! before starting role-plays, i just imagined i overcome everything. i thought that was good for me at that time, but i noticed i've taken matters easy after finished. actually, from the moment i was given a paper, my brain wasn't working. haha... maybe.. i was bit upset then. now i don't come up with any good comment... after role play, you said to us like this.."i think it took long time for every student to understand the situation not only you guys."
but i feel it's awful wwwwwww>3<;
it's completely different from Eiken. i just only speaking, but this time i have to be careful for listening to other people said. [wait - listen - understand - speak] this process was the most important thing for the conversation, i learned.
Q2. What was your overall impression of this class?
A2. that was creative!! if i say "that was easy" then i'm a liar, but that's true your class was nothing without fun!! and i'm also appreciate it that you commented almost every time. you're first person who i could talk earnestly. i have several friends i've kept in touch for long time. but i noticed this is the first time ...
i think you're always helpful for us without last class becuz of role play. ^3^/
Q3. What problems/mistakes did you hear?
A3. although i didn't understand the situation well, i started the conversation. as a result, our first conversation was completely brokendown... i'm sure that was my fault. so i have to apologize for Arika. actually i totaly bad speaker that day.
sometimes japanese people say "ことばのキャッチボール" is the important rule when they talk together. now i know the most bad point was... i couldn't catch & throw words between me & her.
Q4. What did you do well?
A4. uhmmm... almost nothing! but if i could say anything... this! when Arika stoped speaking or thinking long time, i could help her by say something. even if that was trivial matters. i try to continue conversation.
but unfortunately ..That's all.
Q5. What could you have done to prepare and performe better?
A5. our tern was almost last. but i think i couldn't do any special without imagination. usually we were speaking as looking at paper. but this time we had no paper. it means we have to create our conversation moment, we had to extemporize.
if we made mistake, never go back. that's big different point between this time and usually. usually we could go back and recreate other one.
if we would be in a deadlock we have to break that by using any other easy words.
"you can say freely! Go speaking!" when i'm said so, i can't keep speaking. this situation like my final exam. haha!!
anyway, "What's done cannot be undone" according to japanese proverb, now i have to progress with my English.
P.S. thank you for kind of us, i had a good time★ & Have a great summer vacation!

★Dan's class ~part 14~☆
【Go~4QUESTIONs】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. at first, we were explained about the final oral exam. after that,we had to choose one from four situations, and started making script for role play for 35 min.
next, we made group in several people and discuss who is next James Bond.
Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today?
A2. yes, because many students were in a fever of James Bond.^3^/ one person said "he is so macho, he has to be Bond!Hu~Hu~ >▼" , other person said "but Bond also has to be wise like ... it's important not only macho but also decisive for his next action immediately."
of course we could discuss how peeson should be Bond. but the most interesting was... I heard many unique opinions from other group. haha!
Q3. Did you think these activities were easy or difficult?
A3. i was a OYAKATA. so actually it was difficult to choose just only one cuz each peorson had each opinion. oh~ my gosh! finaly, we decided "Charles Fox" by a majority vote. hahaha~! i thought Sam Landon is the best actor as James Bond...ノ3\;
Q4. What did you learn?
the number of people is the number of opinion... and preparing role play, it's not good for me.笑" i noticed through this long thinking time in class .. i'm not good at exchange opinion each other. now i have a big problem>3<; i can't digest her opinion, and i think she also can't do that. we will need to have a rethink on our script together by Tuesday.
we've had presentation many times in this session, actually even had we wanted to make same sentence, we couldn't do same word for word cuz we have different structures when we make sentence even just only one sentence. when i write "i have to go to school today because i have a test.", other person write "i should go to school today because i have a test." and may be it's also ok this"i have to go to school because of a test" meaning is same, but there are different types.
therefore presentation make me a little bit nervous!! (;>3<#)

☆Dan's class ~part 13~☆
【Go~4questions】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. first, we did role presentation. caller speaks very well, but responder can't undersatand that English. this was a situation. Next, we moved on to part8, and we thought about "How decisive am I?". we answered 7 questions, then compared each other.
Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? Why? or Why not?
A2. yes! every time, you make us enjoy. as you said in class, we always say "BIMYO~". when you asked me about question G,i answered "more no"!
but actually i was not sure cuz i have no certain reason. i judged from just imagining the situation. i couldn't explain with words. through this work, i found who i am. that's so funny work.
Q3. Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Why not?
A3. it was easy to think about me cuz i am the most professional about me. but it was so difficult to explain me to others with words. of course, there is a language barrier.
Q4. What did you learn?
A4. usually, japanese people think that Asisn people always could be shy for everything. on the other hand, most Europe American people know who they are. that's why there is big defference between both. we have an indecisive decision, i think that's true. but some of us understand when should they make a perfect decision, when should they escape that. generary, people who tell their opinion are liked by all. but why can't people in japan say decision? i think the one of reasons is feeling. when their friend is very very very dissapointed... if they think it's completely their friend's fault, they can't say "that's your fault, so you need to apogize first!!". they have a deep feeling for the sufferings of others.
but it doesn't mean that foreign people don't have much feeling. actually it's comfortable for me to be with my foreign friends cuz their response are sometimes clear but very kind. on the other hand japanese sometimes give me a irritation answer. therefore, what is good response, bad response ..? it depends on the situation. >3<*/
but if i'll be asked again, why japanese people make indecisive decision?, then may be i'll answer like this. "we don't notice the necessity of knowing about us yet. because we went ok everything without decisive decision in japanese society. if people notice that it's important to describe us, new type of japanese born!!●^▽^●”
anyway, after answering each question on page45, i fonud!! ⇒my answers were "more~" except for F. i think i'm so decisive person☆ (/3\;)
have a nice weekend!! i look forward to seeing you & my classmates.

☆Dan's class ~part 12~☆
【GO~4QUESTIONs】
Q1.What did you do in clas today?
A1.first, we discussed the star festival(七夕). socond, we check the poem and the meaning of complicated words. neaxt, we listened to three unexpected phone calls on page41 continued from last class. finally, we started to make the presentation about handling calls.
Q2.Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? Why? or Why not?
A2.yes, i enjoyed very much. especially about the star festival. i haven't considered about it before. what is the connection to stars? i'm not sure. i'm so confused cuz it's normal for me as Japanese, but for you it's mysterious thing, i noticed.
Q3.Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Wht not?
A3.for me alittle bit difficult. "you said if ever i was in Rio you'd introduce me to your boss." Oh ~ my gosh~!! i could catch just part of this sentence...you said if... ...Rio you'd... ... to your boss. i missed the important point.
Q4.What did you learn?
A4.we shouldn't do "make caller waiting, breaking down communication, being annoy"in phone call. and we learned some expressions when we have to contact to caller again."Could you call me back?" "i'll speak to you later" "i'll get back to you tomorrow" ...whatever...
P.S. 【**star festival**】
in Japan, everybody believes that their dreams come true when they wish upon the stars. this is a never come true story. one day, Vega & Altair are falling love. but Vega's father was so stubborn person, he kept objecting against their love with any reasons. he separated them(Vega & Altair)into two worlds. so they were placed different world. then Galaxy was placed between them. they still can't be together. but they have only one chance to meet each other once a year. that is on July 7th.
once upon the time(may be, about one thousand and three hundred years ago), people started hanging the oblong paper to get better writing & sewing. but now, the meaning was changed. if people know that they have no possibilities for their dreams,it doesn't matter. when i was a child, i wrote the paper "someday i will be able to talk to alien★" of course that's impossible i knew then. but even that funny story is very important to hand down the story from generation to generation.
i can't explain very well... but if i could help you to know about Japan,i'm so happy.

【Go~4QUESTIONs】
Q1.What did you do in class today?
A1.we started today's class with pair work. second, i made a asking question & answering question with polite sentence and presentated it with my partner. next,we listened one unexpected phone call and match it to its description. finally, we check a poem at the office.
Q2.Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? Why? or Why not?
A2.actually, it was hard work. ^○’recently,i've been interested in listening because i noticed that i can't keep my concentration for all listening time. i found my half of brain was working for understanding what speaker said, but other side was thinking about another thing at the same time.(haha... so also in class,i was happy for listening time. every time is very important for me to improve my skill.
Q3.Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Why not?
A3.mmm~ i'm not sure... but sometimes i was bit confused about even simple question.
question was clear and simple at time first i heard, but while i was making sentence itwas getting gradually complex for me... what was happened in my brain??
Q4.What did you learn?
A4.i learned asking politely like "I would like to ask you for a big favor.---Could you~?". that's so easy expression with easy words. but when i have to say it con i do it properly? -may be not... in this situation, i will not be able to come up with this expression quickly because i will be really upset. i can do just reading and understanding it. but i'm not good at speaking. that's my problem.
anyway, i enjoyed the poem at the last of the class. it can be said with rhyme like japanese haiku. so funny~★
i'm looking forward to seeing you and classmates on this friday again.
thanks~♪

☆Dan's class ~part 10~☆
【Go~3QUESTIONs about mid test】
Q1. How did you do on the test? Better than you thought? or Worse than you thought?
A1. not better than i guessed, and also not worse than i guessed. ^▽^; my test was normally lke this. haha!
i a little bit underestimated the test cuz even business expresstion is natural conversation. i had been good at business reception gradually i thought. i had a little confidence for the test, so i thought i could give a spot answer only during the test. i'm sorry that negligent of preparing for the test. i really awful about that. >3
Q2. What mistakes did you make? Can you correct those mistakes?
A2. my mistakes were mainly constructed from two parts. first of them , in convesation section(Ⅵ). actually, i wasn't sure of my all answer in this question. i couldn't imagine this situation clearly. i felt that there are some answers each blank. that's why now i can say i couldn't imagine clearly. i don't know how can i do to be better about this kind of question. ノ3\;
second, i misunderstood the meaning of question(Ⅷ). this question was almost like this... "put 'x'mark next to the correct answer"... is it right?(sorry i can't remember clearly.) so i understood it means i have to check mark on wrong answer. when i looked this question i felt it doesn't make sense. but now, may be i understood you mean... "i have to mark 'x' on my correct answer" ...right?
but i'm depressed that i had some careless mis(mistakes)everytime.
~ in next class, could i give a sample answer?! ~
Q3. What are you going to do so you do better on the next test?
A3. the big points are gonna be studying before the test and paying attention to all sentences in each question.
but i think next final test is... oral test, right?? ^3^
this feedback is really good for me. it gave a chance to realize the importance of accurate reading skill.
【Go~4QUESTIONs~】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. first, i checked my test, and considered about "which part, why, how ...did i make the mistake". next, me and my partner decided the situation on business travel, and built conversation for role playing presentation. finally, we listened to just one conversation in which people meet at the airport.
Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today?
A2. it was really really fun!!!! at first, i was so dissapointed to my test, but at the end of the class....what's happened?? we couldn't understand the conversation because of so fast. as you know, all of us were laughing then. i found that my English skill is not enough to talk with native speaker. wah~~~~o!
Q3. Did you think these activities were easy or difficult?
A3. of course difficult! how do they speak so fast like that we listened to. kkk~~
i have a big question every time i listened to this kind of convesation, "could you guys understand each other with fast speaking?" ^3^/
Q4. What did you learn?
A4. i thought my listening skill was not so bad, but today's task completely overturn my recognition. during study abroad, how easy it was! people were so kind to me, they spoke to me with easy words, clear pronunciation, and slow speaking.
just now i noticed your suggestion on my last blog. you said, When native speaker notice that the person they are speaking to is not a native speaker, they "cheat" me from hearing some really common expressions.

☆Dan's class ~part 9~☆
【Go~4 QUESTIONs】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. at the beginning of the class, i presentated role playing.^▲^/ thank you very much for your kindness!!
next,we combined one sentence(prase)from three sections. we already gave subject"I", we had to choose one word from each section. next, we listened thirteen short conversations on business travelling. we had to judge which situation speakers are from six situations. finally, we matched the halves of the following questions based on the conversations we had listened to.
Q2. Did you enjot doing these activities in class today?
A1. yes!! i met a new expression at the first task in this class. ⇒"can't stand" that was this!! when Dan said to me "didn't you hear before?", i was a little bit surprised cus i could spend in abroad without this word. but now i think i need this phrase to get along with other people through natural conversation including this word.
Amazing!!
Q3. Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Why not?
A3. most of words we learned in this class were easy, but some of them were never heard for me. but this section focus on the airport. i learned about airport cus i prepared for the tourism english proficience test. so it's not difficult for me to understand especialy listening. i don't know exactly but we need to deeply understand this section, cus when we're going to go abroad we face to here(airport)firstly. haha!
Q4. What did you learn?
A4. in just only short conversation, how can i say to communicate better, and what can i do for others on business.
that is necessary i learned. i attended to the lecture from the president of UNESCO, and i heard that Jananese are the most negative people for speaking English in all of advanced nations. oh~ my gosh~~~!! so airport is the first internationl place, that's why..we have to use many English expresions in here. i wanna study about business travel more!!
thank you every time, Dan!!#^3^#

☆Dan's class ~part 8~☆
actually, i didn't prepare for the mid test, so i'm not sure that how good it was. all of the question were only writing. of course we need many kind of skills like vocabulary skill, grammer skill, reading skill... ... especially it's so hard to come up with good correct idea(answer).
but if we just had to chose the best answer, that was easier than writing. But for me, this test gave some advantages. What's the way to begin the conversation? How should we end the conversation? There are so many ways, not only phrases we learned in class but also others. So, i think if we don't have correct idea, it 's possibly to make other expression quickly by ourselves in the test. by this meaning, we needed practical knowledge in writing test. This test was good for us. in this test, we needed to give a response to other person's question and make a conversation. it was so hard & complicated for me. i don't know why. but may be it's just lacking of voca's skill. unfortunately i was really confused, haha !!
anyway, your class is so efficient. i mean there are many important tips of our dairy life in your class. we can learn them every week. thank you very much for giving information to us.
sincerely yours,
yukako.*^3^*

★Dan's class ~part 7~★
【Go~4QUESTIONs】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. First, we discussed "what speaker is the most hardest for me to understand?" Next, we learned six expressions to ask again. Finally, we filled the branks in script about Budweiser Company from partner's reading. If we weren't clear about what the information is, we had to ask partner to check that information by using six expressions.
Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today?
A2. Yes. i found some new phrases like "i'm not with you..." "go over ..." "run through..." something like that.... of course that's good for me , but passed time make me forget all of these, unless i'll keep continue using these phrases in our conversation everyday. anyway, i was really happy for having a chance to make pair with you"Dan"! you were so helpful !!
Q3. you think these activities were easy or difficult?? Why? or Wht not?
A3. everything was not easy!! ~^3^~; i think all of these phrases we learned these days in calss, are a little bit academic expressions. so we aren't used to, but we also have to get used to this in future. in my case, i've used not many expressions ...i mean i always used same expression, not various until now. But these days, i feel that i can expand my view point of English through this class. let's try to use these harder like a native speaker.
Q4. What did you learn?
A4. mainly six techniques in telephone conversation. and which phrase we should use is... depends on situation. sometimes we can't hear clearly, or sometimes we can't understand what people say although we can hear that. . .etc. . . we need to decide a phrase, depends on the situation we are.
【p 27 phrase bank: checking understanding】
a. when we didn't hear. b. when we didn't understand. c. when we understood differently.

2. all of things below are just my opinion, my guess.
"Can you~"this word means "Is it possible for you?". it has a nuance like "is it possible, or not?" it is used when people wanna know that someone has ability to do sth, or not.
on the other hand, "Could you~" involve "If you are ok for~". for example, i pick up this sentence "Could you open the window?". in this case, we can also say "i'm wondering if you could open the window." so we can say in other words. this expression has regarding for other people's condition & situation. therefore, "Could you" is more polite than "Can you".
【Go~4 QUESTIONs】
Q1. what did you do in class today?
A1. at the beginning of class, we made many telephone expressions with a partner. Next, we found question sentence from answer sentence on the phone. finally, we guess the situation from six voicemail messages.
Q2. did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? why? or why not?
A2. yes, of course. i had a chance to reconfirm(re-check) the structure of sentence like... auxiliary verb, subject, verb, object...etc. especially about verb, it's not easy for me to use the collocation like "speak up" "get back to". But now, i gradually make it clear than before. everything we did in class is good for me.
Q3. did you think these activities were easy or difficult? why? or why not?
A3. all activities were completely fine!! ... ... unfortunatelly, i can't say it yet. But even if these activities are so far from our life because of business situation, i'll get used to using these expressions naturally in my life. i think we can use them not only in business but also in our daily life.
Q4. what did you learn?
A4. we could know that even small key words, they can make a lot of useful phrases by changing combination. i learned application of these key words in my convesation. i had a chance to go phone expressions over again, and i could review that meanings.
Thank you for checking my blog everytime.
best wishes, yukako.

★Dan's class ~part 4~★
【Task 4】
I chose these situations "Dinner reservation" & "Conference information"
"Dinner reservation"
*for making reservation dinner i need to decide on: what day, what time, how many people, prepare my phone number.
In addition...outside or inside ⇒depends on season, Japanese-style"tatami" or western-style"table"(depends on restaurant), what kind of food(depends on restaurant)
*from the person on the phone i need to know these: the price, how long can i take dinner(2 hours? 3 hours?),about service, what should i do if i'll cansel.
"Conference information(before going)"
*for asking the information i need to decide on: what day, what time, where, how people coming, how long, how can i stay the day before, what's main theme(presentation? learning something together? just an interchange of personnel?),what should i prepare for in advance.
*from the person on the phone i need to know these: phone number(for emergency case)
※i don't know exactly about conference cuz i've never participated in before. so these ideas are just my guess. so if this is completely different from your meaning(purport),very sorry...
【Go~ 4QUESTIONs】
Q1.What did you do in class today?
A1. first of all, we listened chattiong in formal conference. chatting between two people was about a person who participates in the conference. our task was to complete the information of the person fromtheir talks. Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? Why? or Why not?
A2. yes, i was really interested in the way to begin the conversation, because if i don't know the importance to plan before calling, i can make bad behavior toward other people. i think making good contact by phone is one of the most important tech in our life.
Q3.Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Why not?
A3. i almost understood the difference between worse & better version. but when teacher asked me a question, i couldn't explain the situation& my opinion easily. In addition, it was also difiicult to fill the blank from chatting in conference.
Q4.What did you learn?
A4. i learned the ability to understand participant's information by small talks. in conference, we have to talk with many people. even short time we have to know and get as much information as possible. it's good for me, & it gonna be better for me to learn about this kind of situation for my future.
thank you for reading.

【2 QUESTIONs about business conference】
Q1. You meet someone at conference for the first time, what do you say?
A1, If room is too cold, may be i'll say "it's a little cold, isn't it ?" and keep talking... or if i have to introduce myself face to face, in this situation "Thank you for coming here(inviting me), my name is ~, nice to see you."
Q2. Soon you have to go to a presentation, so you must end the conversation with the person you just met, what do you say?
A2. i think in this case, it's better to tell the real reason to that person at the good timing. So..."I'm very sorry, i have to final check my presentation is coming soon today. I had a great time to talk to you, thank you. I'm looking forward to talking together next time"^▼^
【Go~ 4 QUESTIONs】
Q1. What did you do in class today?
A1. Today, we learned "Listening Collocations & Numbers" from CD. We were thinking about the connections of words. and Dan taught us how to figure out the correct sounds, like... 10 to 30 %= 10 /te/30 %. At the end of the class, taboo questions in a conference were coming up again.
Q2. Did you enjoy doing these activities in class today? Why? or Why not?
A2. For me, it's one of the most important activitiy because i'm not good at listening. So, today's task was not only enjoying but also necessary. i need to used to listening with natural speed & pronunciation. it was good for me. i had a very good time.
Q3. Did you think these activities were easy or difficult? Why? or Why not?
A3. mmm~, now almost easy for me, i mean... some of these made me confused. especially in listening session, number is sometimes complicated for me. I think now i was changed from before, but i wanna tell you about the problem i had before.
In my case, when i listened to English, i often really concentrated on all of each word i heard. if i could catch the correct answer at this moment, i couldn't switch quickly from listening to writing.
This situation was repeated, then i already missed the next key word. As a result, i was confused "Which is a correct answer?". nothing is clearly for me.
Q4. What did you learn?
A4. i listened many times, so i learned how can i control my mind. for me, mind condition is a key point. today, we did 3 Extracts. the first answers in each of them are in the first sentence. So it was easy to miss catching it.
Good start dash makes me relax & concentrate more. i have to focus on hearing first sentence. in class, i could be best condition for keep listening.

【GREETING】
hi!! my name is yukako. i'm not sure how to start writing this blog. but now, i'm not sure how to keep our skill higher after finishing this session. i wanna teacher to tell us about that. anyway this English intensive program is really really helpful for me & my future.
